Something beautiful dies

2024

The inspiration for this work oringinates from the Japanese aesthetic concept of Mono no Aware[ 物 の哀れ]-a profoumd sensitivity to the transience of all things, and the gentle sorrow and appreciation of beauty that arise from such awareness. The piece weaves this subtle, harmonious, and tranquil emotional experience together with the critical perspective of ecofeminism.

The flm constructs a symbolic space: as the external, primal environment gradually disappears, the protagonist retreats indoors, attmpting to reconstruct or mourn a lost nature through artificial plants. Within this dichotomous space-where the artificial and the authentic, presence and absence, constantly intersect-the work explores the fragile symbiosis between humanity and environment Utimately,it responds to our eternal search for beauty and belonging in the face of inevitable loss.
